Naomi Hashimoto, a determined individual, is passionately driven to address societal disparities. She holds a deep concern for the issue of inequality and has a strong sense of responsibility as a citizen and an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning, Naomi seeks to create a fairer and more equitable society.
Naomi’s perspective underwent a significant shift when she saw her friend, raised by a single parent, facing unfair judgment. This eye-opening experience made her realize the widespread nature of societal biases based on one’s circumstances. It revealed the glaring inequalities in society that often result in orphanages and financial struggles. Motivated by the belief that taking action is essential in addressing moral issues, she has committed herself to envision a society that values individuals for their intrinsic worth, regardless of their upbringing.
During her research, she encountered societal problems that captivated her, leading her to analyze them from a sociological perspective. Exploring ways to involve young people in politics revealed the difficulties of devising effective strategies to tackle inequality. In pursuit of her goals, Naomi currently studying methods to increase visitors to the regions where Satoyama exists, while also providing low-income households through a children’s cafeteria. In her free time, she finds joy in playing the cornet, piano, and tennis.
Naomi plans to major in Sociology and Social Science at university, where she aspires to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to plan and create a society that moves towards a “better” future with a focus on addressing inequalities.
